Sewage Contaminated Dam
Project Details
Raw sewage was being released into the river, running into the dam. The dam had little life left and the water smelled of raw sewage.

We were confident that the Baczyme sewage products would digest the raw sewage and restore life in the dam.

A drip system (dosing was dependent on the inflows) of the Baczyme sewage Liquid+ was implemented.
Water tests were done 6 weeks after the start of the project and indicated that the e.Coli and Nitrates had been drastically reduced. There were visible signs of aquatic life returning and the smell had diminished.

In January 2021 the dam was inspected. We found that the sewage inflow was posing a huge threat to the living organisms around the dam. There was evidence of lifeless birds and very little sign of aquatic life. The sewage smell was potent.
A drip system was installed with the Baczyme sewage liquid+, which contains eco-friendly bacteria that digests raw sewage to produce greywater and CO2. The initial dosage was 5 litres per day to kick start the process.
Within 1 week the smell drastically diminished. The dam turned a green algae colour due to the increased Oxygen. The weeds in the dam also began to flourish and tadpoles, mayflies and other insect life started returning to the dam. An increase in birdlife was noticeably visible.
6 weeks into the project there was a massive difference in the water clarity with an abundance of water insects, which started to clear the dam of weeds. The birdlife increased significantly with more than 10 species being observed.
